I Love Aalborg Timetrial

Written by Canadian Nippon at 15:08 25/4-2023

Every year we are always right on the edge of division one and having our TT team take part in the World Championship but every year I have to sit down the squad and say," I don`t think we are going to make it again this year."

That is when Eeclo Wel looks me straight in the eyes and states;" But boss man; what about Aalborg Timetrial? I am sure I can win it"

Three straight years he has won this race since the 55th edition of the race the team has taken part in all but one of these races and progressively gotten better results.

In 55th our best rider was Frederick Patterson finish a distant 24th in the race.

In 56th Edition things improved greatly as we would have three riders place in the top 10 with Abel Frint placing 4th with Conan Guillot in 5th and the other rider being in 10th of Eeclo Wel.

57th is the one race that we missed due to the fact that the team was already secured in Division 1 due to a huge Tour of Norway.

58th was a down year as our best finisher was Conan Guillot in 12th.

Since then it has been a gravy train for the team; Wel winning in 59th in what could have been a disappoint race as the next best rider was Elroy Speed in 19th.

60th Wel was looking to defend and did so nicely just ahead of Frint in 2nd with Jacky Berton in 4th, Guillot in 5th and Speed finish as the lowest placed rider in 12th.

Fast forward today and the 61st edition and Wel was once again looking to defend (Three-peat). So how still to our surprise he once again won the race; our first win of the season keeping our winning at least one race streak a live since coming back to the game since season 50. Adding the cherry to the top of things is the fact that we actually finished 1-2 & 3 in the race with Wel, Guillot & Frint all on the podium. Speed would finish 8th, Eldwin Lafleur in 10th and Berton as the lowest rider in 13th. Making this the second best finishing positions in the race for the team with a massive 370pts moving the team temporarily into Division 1 and 33rd overall in the ranks. Why temporarily?

Since we will lose the 390pts that we scored last season at Mid-night but it means we have just enough time to sign the team up for the World Championship; where we will see what happens as once again they are a tried bunch of riders heading the World Championship. This has stopped Frint from scoring top tens or Speed from finish second the last time we took part so we will see what happens.

But at the end of the day I love Aalborg Timetrial as always seem to have a massive result when this race comes around.
